Military Benefits

Colorado School of Trades is proud to support both current and past military service members through military tuition assistance (TA). Colorado School of Trades is approved for all Veterans’  Tuition Assistance Programs, including the Post-9/11 Veterans’ Educational Assistance Act of 2008.

What does this mean for you?

Depending on your benefit percentage, the GI Bill will cover or partially cover your tuition. Currently, if you have a benefit rate of 100%, the GI Bill will cover all tuition.  If your benefit percentage is 90%, the GI Bill will cover 90% of the tuition. If 80%, the GI Bill will cover 80% of the tuition, etc.

The GI Bill does not pay for the tools you need. However, the GI Bill does pay a “books and supplies” stipend directly to you. This stipend, if you have a 100% benefit percentage, will pay you up to $1,000 per VA year. You can, in turn, pay the school for part of your tools using this stipend.

What are my housing options?

Depending on your military education benefits rate, you get the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) equal to an E-5 pay grade with dependents for the Zip code of the school. Our school Zip code is 80215. If your benefit rate is 100%, you will get the full amount. If your benefit rate is 90%, you will get 90% of the E-5 with dependents for our school’s Zip code. If 80%, you will receive 80%, etc.
